The Mill expanded over the years beginning with the corner building and a potion of what is now the middle of the mill which can be seen in the newspaper clipping below and subsequent photos below.
The Gaston Mill was the first mill in Cherryville Mill to answer the demand for the textile boom of the late 19th century. The Gaston Mill brought hundreds of jobs to the area and helped shape Cherryville as we know it today.
As you can see in the photos below, men, women and children worked all manner of jobs in the mill.
